WHAT'S IN THE CUP?

A caffe latte is espresso and steamed milk. However, milk alternatives like soy, almond and oat can be substituted. What makes a caffe latte unique is its microfoam. The delicate and uniform bubbles in the microfoam add a creamy texture to every sip. When milk is steamed at approximately 150°F (65°C), its natural sweetness arises, smoothing out the bitterness of espresso. A caffe latte is the perfect drink to jump-start your day or cozy up with on the couch. Caffe lattes are also the ideal backdrop for showcasing your creative latte art.

MAKING A CAFFE LATTE

Ratio: 1 part espresso to 3 parts milk (adjust to taste and preference)

Ingredients

  • 1-2 oz (30-60 ml) of espresso

  • 6 oz (180ml) of milk

Brew, Froth and Combine

  1. Brew the espresso using your favorite at-home espresso machine. You can brew the espresso directly into your latte cup.

  2. Steam the milk or milk alternative. Create the microfoam by keeping the frothing tip just below the surface.

  3. Combine by pouring the steamed milk into the latte cup and holding back the foam until the very end, creating a creamy finish!

Pro tip: A steam hand wand works well. However, I highly recommend investing in an instant frother! It will take your lattes to the next level.
